“I want the audience to root for Nika and Madison like they’d root for their own sisters”
A Canadian crime thriller, about two indigenous women. After a night in her hometown bar, university student Madison winds up in the back of a cop cruiser; her ex-best-friend Nika rescues her from a sexual attempt by the cop who is left in a coma as the two are forced together on the run. Through the eyes of two young women navigating systemic misogyny, police violence, and the failures of justice, this film sheds light on the intimate strength it takes to endure in a world not built to protect you. Nominee for Best Editing at Canadian Screen Awards. Special guest: Director Eva Thomas
